Does Anyone Believe There Will Ever Be Universal Faith and Love In A World of Religion?

I am a Christian and I know the bible well, not that that is relevant anyway but I believe that God can bring a more universal understanding of the truth and of the human soul.... even though I do not disbelieve in religious guidance I do believe has taken over the role God himself intended to fill... surely the miracle of love is the beauty of what is unseen but the greatest mystery I believe is that in all the diverse beauty in life and all of our common struggles, religion serves only to divide and yet is not God meant to be at the helm... yet that must come from within ourselves and ourselves alone, hence my question... Religion seeks to save and yet it does not seek to unify... that to me is contradictory to salvation and deliverance in the first place... my point is then that if Religion is the answer, well what about the voice of God amidst all the doomsday sayers and all those professing to be open minded, yet who profess so much hatred to Christians... we're all human.

No, unfortunately. I took a class at my university last fall about this very topic, and I came away with a much greater understanding. All of the various religions and faiths have far more in common than that which they have opposing views on. Most major religions believe in one God, obviously all of the Christian sects share a common Faith in Jesus. Realistically, however, no matter how hard some try, there is always a muddy past and too many people unwilling to follow the generally common doctrine of forgiveness and restitution. Even uniting the Christian churches is impossible, given the vast diversity of thought and practice. Even within one Church, the Catholic one, there are over a billion adherents worldwide, coming form many backgrounds and experiences. Unifying all of these people is difficult as it is. I just can't see the average Lutheran and the average...let's say Pentacostal Christian attending the same general Christian service without some feelings of animosity for one another. On another level, how could any of the Christian churches reconcile their beliefs and practices with the beaurocracy and doctrines and dogmas of the Catholic Church?
Anyway, I digress. No, there will not be, since the fact that there are different faiths is a division. There will always be many faiths in the world, each with their own adherants and their own hipocrosy. Even though they all teach faith and love, we are still human and will find reasons to fight. Religion will not solve this. Religion has been around forever, in fact more people in historical times considered themselves religious than do now, and the garnd majority of historiacl wars were over religion. Incongrous, anyone?

Only when people get the concept that religion has nothing to do with it. It is about what feels right to you, in your gut and in your heart. God shows his existence in mysterious ways through the things that will get our attention the most. It may be through movies, books music or whatever you most identify with. You just have to know how to listen, when and what to look for. It is when you are at your worst and have lost all hope that if you seek God you will surely find him. For me it is in music. I will hear a song I have never heard before and it is no coincidence because it always happens at a time when I'm at my lowest and asking for guidance. The song will come on the radio or on the tv and it really gets my attention more so than anyother song. These songs are usually about keeping your faith and hope. Two that have really stood out for me and I always hear are The Climb by Miley Cyrus and Broken by Lifehouse. So many people have lost their faith in God or don't believe at all because it is easier to give into negativity, it is easier to be close-minded. They say there is no proof because they are blind, they want to be, they are blind to the signs they'd rather not look. They don't hear because they are deaf, they'd rather listen to music that requires no thought or has a negative vibe, why do you think RAP is so popular. It is easier for people to not believe because then they do not have to be accountable for their actions, it is easier not to care because then you don't get hurt. It is easier not to have to ponder and think because people have become lazy in their thinking. Just look at the world today it is all about instant gratification and one for one and none for all. Isn't that the way it was prophesized to be? That in the end times there would be much doubt and turning away from God? I find that most people today almost take a strange satisfaction in being negative. In this world today with all it's hardships it is damn hard to stay positive, it is very easy to loose faith with all the hate and fighting, sensless killing and deaths. We ask why if there is a God is he not stopping this? I ask it myself all the time! It is a very legitimate question and you say to yourself, no wonder I don't believe in a God. Well the answer to this is. If you are open, if you listen and if you seek and know what to look for you will find that answer. We are in the end times, negativity has reached an all time high, disbelief is running rampant, our Earth is chaotic, look at the people, look at the weather. false prophets are rising up everywhere. Then you have people like me who are sensitive and can see the changes and know how to read the signs and truly know that soon we will KNOW and we will SEE the greatest change of all. It is up to us to keep our hope alive and our faith. When you loose hope and faith you loose it all and you loose God.

I don`t

I do not think that there can ever be a universal faith because in many different cultures all through the world conecpts of `faith` and `god` and `soul` are very different.

These differences are recorded in the very languages, in the culture, in every aspect of life.

This is why translation is very difficult.

I think that a Universal Faith would require Universal Language and Universal culture.

Who is to say that one language, culture and faith should take dominance over one other.

I admire your vision, but I think the world needs tolerance, not conformity.

U BELIEVE THE BIBLE SO BELIEVE REVELATIONS. THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE COEXIST. I BELIEVE IT'S THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE RELIGION THAT HAVE DISTORTED ITS PURPOSE. RELIGION WAS MEANT TO DRAW LIKE MINDED BELIEVERS TOGETHER IN PEACE AND LOVE TO SHARE IN AND CELEBRATE THEIR FAITH. IT STILL DOES THAT. THE DEVIL GOES TO CHURCH TOO, HOWEVER, SO THERE'S ALWAYS GOING TO BE ADVERSITY. I BELIEVE THE BIBLE WILL BE FULFILLED AND I LOOK AT DEATH AS DELIVERANCE, NOT DOOM. JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION.

Religion is mans attempt at being good and pure so he can reach God. Can not be good all the time and pure went out the window a little after we all woke up. We do not even have faith in each other to not do us harm let alone to share a belief system with. To many diverse religious ideas and to many Gods, Hindu's have thousands.
If you believe the Bible, in Revelations sometime during Christ thousand year riegn there will rise those who do not have faith in Him and do not want to follow and they will revolt in the end with the help of the newly released Lucifer. If Christ can not make us put our differances aside who can.

I believe there will be Universal Faith (in ourselves) and Love when the world is free of religion!

'Religion is not the solution, Religion is the problem'. Well, that's not really the exact words but that's what that guy meant to say anyway.

honestly, this could never be possible, simply because religion in itself is not real. that is why there are so many different versions, because the story has been changed over and over again throught the world over time. maybe someday far in the future, the world will wake up and realize how much time has been wasted on such a hoax.

A few years ago (relatively speaking), this question might have been posed thus:

"Does Anyone Believe There Will Ever Be Universal Faith and Love When Persephone is Freed From the Underworld?"

That should put the question into proper perspective. Man will always cling to some form of mystical explanation for that which he cannot understand. But there will never come a point in time when we all agree on that explanation.

In strict terms of Abrahamic religions, peace (rough interpretation of faith and love) will only come when we finally move on to something less exoteric and more esoteric - something that makes us continually search within, rather than clinging desperately to some static, external concept of God. Consider Abrahamic tradition:

- everything bad that happens to you is "punishment"... God's fury.
- everything good that happens to you is a "blessing"... God's favor.

The basic message is that someone else (God) controls your destiny. In most of Eastern mysticism, each of us is 100% responsible for our experiences. And as part of life, ALL our experiences are to be cherished.

In my own readings of the Bible and the Qur'an, I've found them to be full of the worst kinds of human behavior and violence. It may be the greatest story ever told, but it is the LAST place I'd go to find my moral bearings.

Yes, there will be, in the bible this event marks the end times. Which is actually happening right now, the universal money, faith, everything is being formulated. It will be a sham, cloaked in unity and love, but actually just something to draw everyone in who have for so long been seeking world peace. It's inevitable.
