It just means you're sensitive and artistic; you could be thinking anything about the artist's mood but it doesn't mean you actually know what they were thinking of when the piece was created.
Empathy only refers to your ability to correctly perceive other people's emotions when you interact or communicate with them.

I do feel others emotions..they feel so strong that I get sick. Now a day, I can not even go out in public very often because of all the negative emotion. The reason I asked about the artwork sensitivity was because it always disturbed me..ever since I was as little as 2 years old, the way I would cry, and I mean bawl for hours because of the artwork, for no reason. I never had a connection with the artist whatsoever, but the connection with the image drawn was what was so overwhelming...

You have a deep personality (not shallow). I'm like that too! It can be a real gift to you if you can learn to focus that energy into something productive... I bet you'd be really good at painting, writing poetry, music, etc.

Old photographs I find in antique stores, I think of how much a living relative of these people would love to have these pictures.

It is nice knowing that I am not the only one. It's hard being young and in a place where everyone around you is not as deep. Thank you for your answer.

I'm not quite sure if empathy is possible toward inanimate objects. Mainly empathy is felt toward living things. When one has a feeling toward art, it is known as "appreciation".

That depends on the type and strength of ones ability...When an artist paints a picture,a poet writes a poem, etc. Etc. They imprint on what they are working on...Some empathics can actually read a perrsons type on the internet because their energy is carried on the electroonic highway.

Thank you for understanding, I know that what I feel has a very spiritual meaning. It's just that feeling of emotion toward the type of work is so so so strong, I can not ignore it. I believe that my ability is definitely very strong when it comes to the art.

You do, it's just about finding your medium. Some people write, others paint. For instance, I'm crap at painting, good at directing, good at writing, good at playing guitar, but I'm an atrocious artist, I couldn't draw an apple to save my life.

Yes. Can you feel your body tingle when you listen to certain music? The astral body can be quite strong in some people. You can also notice how disturbing the engines of heavy lorries are.
We could all be empathic if we didn't live in such a sludge-driven society.

Yes! That is exactly how it is. And the engines, it is very disturbing, for no reason. Now that i recognize this, It is time to work toward the healing process..I'm guessing.

I believe that the problem is we're living in a time of low sensitivity. It is easier to be insensitive because there is so much ugliness. For any hyper sensitives we need to be in natural world, not living on busy roads or too near to industry. Maybe protection meditations will help though. Best of luck on your journey!
