Did you get a swine flu vaccine in the late seventies? That caused a lot of Guilliam Barre. But, you do know that that will go away. Neuropathy, unless the nerve is separated forever from its brain path will heal. I had a very bad shoulder surgery in 2006 and all of my nerves were damaged. I spent a year on a lot of drugs. If I wasn't it felt like a telephone pole was stuck in my shoulder. Go to a pain specialist. He gave me enough narcotics to kill a horse and I said why--and he said that pain is etched behind your eyes. I took all my pain meds as he prescribed for a year and then found a surgeon who'd risk operating again. I'm still in pain but not the kind you have to medicate. Patience and pain meds. What you feel is very real and you need narcotics. That is why they made them--Don't take Lycria--a horrible drug for neuropathy. You'll gain ten pounds a week and still be in pain.
