Does anyone else have Tourette's? Is it hard for people to understand or care about your condition?

People hate me SO much that they're trying to destroy my life because of my TS, & they keep saying I use it as an excuse, when I'm not. I'm @ high risk for jail or whatever because the police think I'm using my TS as an excuse to break the law, when I can't help it.

My little cousin had ts. when he was younger. I remember he used to say such mean things to people, including me. Sometimes it was so funny when he called a complete stranger something real terrible and my cousins and I would laugh! and sometimes he would say it to me right after and make me cry lol..
but I was too young to understand it exactly. I used to get mad at him and my aunts would have to remind me that it wasn't his fault.

Maybe for your own protection you should carry like a doctors note of some kind or like a prescription order for the medication in your wallet with your I.D. Card in case you get harassment from police again.

Egoberd	Posted Oct 7th, 2009 at 9:15PM My niece has been suffering from tics for a couple of months now. I believe that it is a symptom of PTSD, for her. She is always accused of being attention seeking, even by family members. She tics so hard sometimes that it causes her pain. I can't imagine having this disorder. Rated: +2Vote for this!

karentracey	Posted Oct 9th, 2009 at 6:10PM dont know if you have heard of big brother but couple yrs ago it was won by a guy called pete,he had tourettes,it was funny coz the host use to say on a friday(eviction night)you are live on channel 4 plse do not swear&all you could hear is pete saying"****,****"i say it was funny,but he went on to win,the whole nation was behind him xx Rated: +2Vote for this!
gayat54	Posted Oct 9th, 2009 at 6:09PM don't have tourette's; but can relate. i have epilpepsy and people have hard time understanding condition and how it effects your life. they either denie it should sfect you in any way or they treat as a total imbacil, you are unable to do anything. I know you hate the town your in and are mad at your brother for talking you into moving there.. there must be somewhere where you can get some help to make these people understand or to help you to move somewhere that is a little more understanding for you...I wish i knew a way to help you but the best I can do is to tell you that not everyone is a total creep and that many people feel for you and hope for the best for you..
