Mice are pretty good at getting into "impossible" places. So are squirrels. My house has scratching sounds, creaks and rattles. You should hear the wind in the chimney. If I let my imagine run away from me, it could get pretty spooky. Houses are made of wood and plaster; they make noise.

I once had a possum climbing up the inside of my wall...though they are like big rodents.
Insects can make that sort of noise too. And of course there are things like tree branches scratching against the wall. How do you know it's not mice?

Yea. IDK WTF it was for sure, it must have been a bat tho. At first, I thought there was a cricket or somthing stuck in my box springs. I sat next to the wall an listened to it for a long time. Still, the sounds weren't like a bat, but they weren't like a rodent. It had to be some sort of animal tho!
