That's what its like here. We kind of live out in the country. Everyone walks their children up the the end of their driveways at o'dark thirty to wait for the yellow chariots (school buses) to arrive. It is amazing to witness the activity at this time of day. Some parents are fully dressed and ready to go while other have thrown on sweats or are still wearing their PJs.

It's a school bus? Not a general public bus? I can't see what the problem is.

Kids are usually up that early anyway. If he's not then he's probably staying up too late.

No .. as long as a parent waits with them at the bus stop.

Realities are that school starts early and in the winter that can mean it's still dark out. As long as the child isn't standing anywhere alone, it's fine IMO.

elementary school doesn't have to start this early, and an hour long bus ride is ridiculous, it's 6:39 am and he's on the bus

The way schools have to bus kids all over town can be ridiculous, I agree. It's just the way education is now though. Cut backs and "politics" don't take into consideration how inconvenient it can be for students and parents. Not much you can do ..

That is crazy.

It happens in many places in the world. Sadly it is the way of the world.
