I've had it for over 20 years and all I can tell you is good meds.
I've relied on mine but now I'm panicking because my doctor is getting ready to retire.

Exercise with lots of fruits and vegetables. And if that doesn't work you can always try Xanax.

Progressive muscle relaxation can help, and it involves clenching and unclenching various muscle groups in order for you to notice differences between tension and relaxed states - there's probably a script online that you can google and run through. Deep breathing exercises help a lot, too, and it's pretty much "yoga breathing." So, you breathe in for 3 seconds, hold for 8 (or so), and breathe out for 5; repeat 5 times.
Meditation can also be good, which involves the deep breathing and visualization exercises. Containment visualization exercises can also be helpful, listening to calming music, journaling, and drinking green tea. There are anti-anxiety meds, but there are ways to help control anxiety med-free.
