The chocolate is a little expensive but it's worth the money.

I found it to be reasonable but it is like any place in the world, you have your fine dining vs. casual. Depending on where you choose to eat, you could find it reasonable as well.

Belgium is not at all expensive for the Europeans - one of the less expensive countries in fact BUT Belgium is not a very beautiful country up to my own personal experiences - and I am a European so I definitely know and can say, making comparison to many other European and other countries.
Belgium is QUITE ORDINARY AND NOTHING IMPORTANT HAPPENS THERE. I never could understand why some average citizens find it is nice - while it is nothing much - Belgium lacks the high class and old history - it has old history but it IS JUST AVERAGE AND NOTHING MORE for Europe. A very ordinary country at a level lower than the medium for Europe - regarding history and culture and especially the current situation and activities there.
For you - the average Americans - it could be of some interest maybe - and because most things are LESS EXPENSIVE in the US - most of you will probably find most of the European countries including Belgium - quite expensive lol.
Still compared to the UK it is far LESS expensive and average.
I couldn't live there without getting bored for more than a week.
I never much liked THAT COUNTRY - I DON'T KNOW WHY.

It as is flat as a pancake so maybe the scenery is boring but Bruges, the Venice of the North is well worth a visit.

Its a stunning medieval city with cathedrals, canals and lots of good choccy and beer. Not quite ordinary at all!

Brussels and southern parts are bit boring though.
