Does anyone know of a brand of coffee maker where the coffee beans can't fall into the water uptake?

I prefer to grind my own beans, but inevitably, large chunks fall into the water, where the bean subsequently clogs the line. I have had expensive grind-n-brew makers, and cheap Mr. Coffee coffee makers. ALL of them get clogged with rogue coffee beans, and I have to throw them away. I am not mechanically inclined enough to put a screen filter over the hold for the water uptake to prevent the beans from going down into the hole.....arrrgh - help! I am about to go out and buy my FIFTH coffee maker in a year!

I have a Krups Grind and Brew. It's a burr grinder.

I've had it for about 6 months now and no complaints at all. The water compartment is separate from the grinder compartment so there's no way a bean could get in it.
I got mine on line for around $99.

Burr grinders are supposed to give more flavor to the coffee - I'm not sure if this is true or not
