Well with a divorce rate of 56 percent and going up, there are more important questions to be asking. People are abandoning the concept of relationships because the truth is they're bunk, they don't work. We've been a polygamist species for hundreds of thousands of years, we can't seriously expect to change that over a dozen or so generations. And even if we could, what would the benefit of that be? practically nothing. But polygamy is for primal creatures who repopulate quickly.
I think advanced civilizations always take a certain form of being bisexual and indifferent to relationships.
