Does MLB have an East Coast Bias? It seems that the Yankees & Phillies are getting all the calls?

No. The organizations did a better job assembling the teams and making some solid adjustments over the summer (Phils picking up Lee and The Yanks Gaudin). I am a fan of the So Cal teams and they are suffering from weakness in the starting rotations. The Dodgers have had some poor ABs, especially with Blake and Furcal. Manny has been ordinary. Kemp really has been exposed in the NLCS and strikes out too much. Broxton choked away the lead last game. The Angels can't do jack against Sabathia or Rivera.

The bad calls show weakness in umpiring, but, the Los Angeles teams were 'pitching light' and in the LCS are not hitting well. The players for the Phillies and the Yankees want it more: beter at bats, situational hitting, bunting, productive outs. Torre has his dodgers in accountant mode: don't waste energy, you don't get that much more money for winning.

The Yankees are getting all the calls because they're the best team in baseball, that's why! (Can you tell I practically grew up in Yankee Stadium?!)
