This topic has been discussed and researched for over a decade now and there still isn't any concrete evidence that it has any effect as fact. There are a lot of variables here, in that *everyone's* metabolism is different. One person sleeping 5 hours each night doesn't gain any weight, whilst a person sleeping 8 (plus) hours doesn't either. But if you take another pair of people, the results would be different because of metabolism Bear in mind here that we are *all* different in how our metabolism works. The guy who eats a plate full of food at 9 pm and goes to bed at 10pm *should* gain weight because his metabolism slows down as he sleeps, and so he doesn't burn the calories ... but there is no research to say this is a fact. because there have been studies which defy what is considered to be 'fact' and where the entire opposite is found to be the case.<br />
