Yes, SOME "modern art" is an insult to the intelligence ; such as that unmade bed they had at - was it the Tate Gallery ; and that pile of bricks. Frankly, a lot of these "exhibits" could be matched by a kidergarten class - but they are not art !

Yes I agree with your feelings about some modern `art`. This splintered expression of whatever is explained away with equally disjointed descriptions, and I came to the conclusion years ago that only the pretentious would be sucked into accepting what you saw as `art`. It`s the modern version of `The King`s New Clothes` Time to get dressed.

The Hayward gallery in London is putting on a "display" of invisible art by famous artists and charging £8 to go in and see the space where the art would be. I handed them an imaginary ten pound note and got stroppy when they wouldn't give me change ,apparently they didn't think my protest was valid

This is a taste thing and all modern art isn't the same. I agree that a few blocks of wood on a rope would probably seem asinine to me as well but I have seen some simplistic modern sculptures that I thought were great.

For me, if the finished piece is simple there MUST be a complex thought behind it or it just sucks.

I'm fine with new art.....but THIS was bull$hit. Unless the rope was used by the artist to hang someone....that would be cool.

LOL that is kind of what I mean. Understanding why they did it might give reason to the drab construct. There may be no reason. He might just be boffing the curator and so up on drugs he thinks it's good.

I think he was just bitter because he had that room and not the ancient Egyptian artifact room.

Go back tomorrow and touch it again.

    And then the next day.

    And the next day.

    Act more possessed everyday.

    "Must touch ****** art work!!!"
