I boy in my town died when the assailent got him into what is known as a 'scissor hold' where the quadriceps are pressing on the throat and many said that he 'strangIed' him. so did the victim die from having his carotid artery restricted (died of interrupted circulation) or from not being able to breathe (asphixiation/suffocation) it was 2nd degree murder btw the killer was provoked over many years

The latter...your legs still get blood circulation while you strangle.

Best Answer

asphixiation most likely.

Best Answer

Blood carries oxygen throughout the body so either way you are deprived of oxygen.

I think you would die without air before the circulation being blocked killing you. Blocked circulation would cause a stoke (i think) and they would definitely be able to tell the deference in the autopsy if that was the case.

Best Answer

ok so which sounds most likely in this case with the boy.

Best Answer

Lack of air cause you can survive a stroke.
