Resolved Question

Does the president make too much money?

"President Obama currently earns $400,000 per year, along with a $50,000 expense account, a $100,000 nontaxable travel account and $19,000 for entertainment.[9] The most recent raise in salary was approved by Congress and President Bill Clinton in 1999 and went into effect in 2001; prior to the change, the President earned $200,000, plus expense accounts."

In a time where the people are struggling to make anything at all, our tax dollars hand the president over these amounts. Honestly, is it write that the PEOPLE are suffering while he gets double my yearly salary as an expense account?

President Obama made money before he was elected and his income wasn't questioned. Actors make upwards of 20 million dollars per movie and that's a far cry from what the current President makes. Bush's family is in oil and are filthy rich and I don't recall any one questioning his salary when he was Prez and he caused this current mess with this country! CEO's of major companies have more income than Pres Obama. If there is something that a "finger" can point at it certainly will. Different notice for different shoes.

no way the president makes too much money. it's a job where you literally have the weight of the world on your shoulders. a president ages about 3 times faster than average during his term. i don't see how anyone could want that job.

I think his pay should be performance related. If he gets America out of the hole it's in he deserves every cent!

From what I understand, this president was rich before he took the job. As are a lot of politicians. The dictators in the other countries live lavishly like kings. Although with that much money, he should be able to pay for his own healthcare and 401K benefits as should Congress.

well I have nightmares working in a team let alone heading a department, a company, a city, a country or the country with the largest national economy in the world! Think he deserves more than that.

I wonder if he can sleep peacefully at night. Smallest of his mistakes or one rude remark could create war and bloodshed.

When the country is doing bad - he is blamed. When the country is doing good - he is blamed again saying that it could do better.

I'd say he deserves more if possible.

Oh...You mean something else...

Yea...I think that he does.....And the worse part of it is...That he will be getting a life time of money...For 4 short years of service......No soldier gets a life time of money...For 4 short years...and they laid their life on the line......

He makes less than he would in private enterprise.

I think its all about the POWER...never about the money.

Why would you spend millions of $$$$ and countless hours over a four year period campaigning for a job that only pays $400,000.

I agree with Robert Hedrock, pay scale should be performance related.
Bush should pay back every cent we payed him and more. He failed miserably as a president!!!
Obama is certainly being paid what he's worth, considering he inherited the mess we are in!!!!!
