    My husband (aka the "oppressor") doesn't want me to feed the birds because he thinks there will be bird $h!+ all over the place (more of it).

    Awwwww. That's awful. Years and years ago I lived in a townhouse, and our back deck was so close to our neighbor's that she objected if I wanted to feed the birds, for the same reason, so I wasn't allowed to have a feeder out there. Did you know they have suction cup feeders that adhere to windows? So if you have a spot where there is lawn below, you can have a feeder there.

    OMgosh....how did you KNOW??? We were STARVING when I was growing up. My Mom was always on a diet and she refused to keep food in the house.
