Don't anybody know what goes on in the military.?

I was in the damn military, I knew what I was getting into, and had tons of fun; yea I do see the commercials and of course they glorify the whole thing, but everything gets glorified by TV (and recruiters, in this case), what's got the stick up your arse about the military? There wasn't any other prospects for me at the time other than a dead-end factory job, and they trained me to fix and work on advanced electronics; I'd say it was a good deal.

because its a easy job to find, they maybe tough but there own hearts that there lazy, they just can't find a job, just a job in city!

Some people are just built for the military. Some, should run.
It is good if thats what you like doing.
But do not do it, for the money. You wll always be broke.

Those commercials are no different than the advertising most colleges do. At least when you are done suffering through boot camp you are guaranteed a job. Plus there are a variety of jobs and types of training that can be accessed a little more easily through the military because they have more resources. The pay is decent and, yes, there is a war going on and I am happy to have those men and women defending our country and trying their best to help other countries.

I'm not personally in the military but I have a wonderful and beautiful little brother whom I am proud currently serving the US Marine Corps.

Where else can you be a bum and get paid for it? And dugh... dude... yes we know that joining up with uncle sam can get you killed. I would so try to explaine to you but you probely wont get it.

I have been drafted into the army against my wish. But I decided to die rather than to kill, so I got out of it legally afterwards safe and happy.

Of course we know what goes on in war!

belay that last answer I am in the military and would not want you in my military. McDonald's is more your style. I was a recruiter and can tell from your posts that you would not and I do repeat would not make it in the military.

In the ad's for the British army they now do show you some of the reality of military service.
People wanting to enlist are not lied to anymore both the upsides and the downsides of military life are fully explained.
With the information out in the public domain through Documenteries, Books and specialist magazines like Combat & Survival magazine or Soldier magazine.
Lying about service would be stupid!

The military is a great career for those that can handle it. Just like college or sushi, it isn't for everybody.
