Rude, and inconsiderate....they may have the "right" to smoke it....but, we also have the right not to breathe it!

If this is the worst problem you ever face, be thankful.

I smoke, i always ask the person if they mind (when i'm not already familiar with them). Even if they say it's fine i'll never smoke while they asre eating, i'll hold the cig away from them and i find myself walking around them in a circle trying to find the right spot so the wind will take the smoke away from them :)

I do think it is rude - I'm a huge health nut and I would be very angry if someone started smoking around me - after all the hard work I put in trying to take care of my body I don't want smoke blown in my face. Smokers should respect other people's health and wellness and their own.

Yes I do, I tell them smoking will stunt their life but they don't have the right to stunt mine.

It is rude. I smoke, never in my car or home or in anyone elses. If I'm in a group of people I step out away from them to smoke if I need to. I don't even like the smell and I don't want to expose anyone else to it or to the health risks...I NEED TO QUIT!

As long as every bit of the stinking stench goes into their lungs and stays there, I could care less.

It's completely rude. By doing so you are presuming to harm them (carcinogenic smoke in their lungs) without so much as asking first. Spitting in their face would be considered more polite.

For the people who are comparing smoking to the same levels of rudeness kissing in public and eating: as soon as eating or kissing causes someone watching to have an asthma attack or get cancer, you'll have a valid comparison.
