I have ADHD and can only laugh. I can be very focused when interested at something but off in la la land finding something else to do if it is boring. On a serious note i do think that meds work.

Don't most people slide far away from someone not perfect?
I want to go up and give them a HUG. Those growing up with DOWNS Syndrome is a classic. I see people walking out of their way as if they my CATCH what they have. These born with deformities have a minimal life span... they are still human. Give them credit. You wont catch it if the slobber on you.
Their mind is alright. Many are quite brilliant. Fearing their appearance makes you shallow.

Everything has a humorous side. Comedians make their livings by saying politically incorrect things. Your example is funny because it is general, and is not directed against a person in an attempt to make them feel small. Life and death both have their funny sides. In my medical condition, I often display "gallows" humor which, believe me, is NOT appreciated by all people. Apparently I am supposed to take my growing disability and early death very seriously, but I just don't see the point.
