Don't you think the parents of the kid who got bit by a dolphin are going too far?

They are trying to make Sea World close the exhibit, when everyone was told NOT to pick up the trays-Their kid made a mistake- that's why you have to follow directions- some directions are there for your safety! It's not the Dolphins or parks fault.

I think they are a little bit silly about it.
I'm sorry the kid got bitten, but she was holding the tray where she shouldn't have, and it seems to me her parents should have been paying attention to that. After all, they do know dolphins have teeth....and intelligent and friendly as they are, they are also animals.
I was at a petting zoo a month or so ago, and I got nipped by a zebra. Should I have complained and put it on the news? No. When you interact with animals, you can't predict what they are going to do. I believe the Sea World people acted in good faith and had no idea the incident would occur. And I think the dolphin wasn't to blame either. It was a mistake, and the only wrongs I saw were that the child wasn't following the safety instructions, and the parents weren't making sure she did.

exactly- the parents should have been keeping a better eye on her- and made sure she understood the directions before she fed them.

YES! It's unreal! The dolphin was only eating the food and the kid was hardly touched. Idiots!

what's with people trying to pass laws for their own or their kids stupidity??? My son got bit by an EMU at a zoo and it was way worse than her injury- I didn't yell at the Zoo's paramedics when they came running- I calmly told my son he would be ok and that is why you need to do what signs tell you! If it says do not put your hands thru the gate, then don't or you do it at your own risk. He's fine now, but hhe still doesn't like Emus

When I was a kid I got bitten by a penguin. It was no fault of the zoo or the penguins, just my own fault for getting to close. There were no signs up back then, so people just used common sense. I think there is a lot of common sense missing these days. The fact that her dad filmed instead of jumping in and trying to stop it just shows how much it WASN'T a huge threat. If there was any threat there her da would have dropped the camera and ran to help her. Well, I like to think he would. Silly people!

I can't decide which is more pathetic . . . the parents or the national news media for thinking this was actually national news worthy . . . hmmm . . .
