That's true in a lot of aspects of life. Once you;ve messed up, no matter how much good you my have done, all people remember is the one screw up.. A lot of people are like this. I think in some cases it is because the only way some people feel like a man or woman or to feel important is to belittle others. Pretty pathetic but true. Others I think it is because they are cynics. And others I don't think they even realize the hippocrits they are being. After all, no one is perfect and we all make some pretty big mistakes.

And if you are talking about yourself, good job for kicking it. If others are aggogant and self rightous then the hell with them. You did good, so don't worry. You have supporters here

Consider that it's the wrong people who do this; it's an instance of hypocracy at it's most well defined and it's the pious, judgemental people who do this. We can all have our own addictions and it doesn't take drugs to be considered an addict. Consider, too, that those who judge in such a way may well have a secret addiction they have had for the biggest part of their lives.
Well, well done for kicking an addiction, if it is yourself you are talking about. Maybe it is a matter of time, the longer that person is clean, then people slowly change how they view them,

I only have a lifetime. LOL! It only matters what yourself believes
