Ever think that ergot or psilocybin mushrooms might just have a consciousness all their own?

For anyone who has taken shrooms or acid (LSD, or more specifically, LSA in its raw and condensed form), have you ever felt that these substances might possess an actual consciousness that merges with our own? I have. And accept that this could also just be the resulting lunacy of taking so acid all at once, but I once ingested the LSA from 4 oz of (non treated) morning glory seeds, and that night and for some time there after, I felt that my mind was host to another organism and consciousness living within my own.
I would still accredit myself for being made, at least in part, of acid =)
