With Mothers, especially as a teenager, trust has to be earned. If you are a good person and if you tell the truth t oyour mom, don't get upset when she doesn't believe you- you have no reason to get defensive and you have no reason to be mad at her for not believing you. Just accept it, keep being the good kid you are and eventually you will gain her trust.

I wouldn't be giving this sort of advice if you were talking about your boss- if it were your boss I would say you are in serious trouble- cause bosses tend not to change their first impression of a person from my experience. But because you are talking about your own mother I believe she will come to realize you are a good kid and would never lie to her and then she will learn to not only trust you, but will also realize she can depend on you too.

If you are a bad kid though, then you will just have to accept this as a stage within yourself until you grow up. My daughter went through a difficult stage at around 14 years old- I think every teenager does. But you will outgrow it hopefully if you don't make life too diffiuclt for yourself. If you know you can't be trusted be honest enough with your mom to say, 'mom you are right to not be able to trust me at this time.' She will appreciate it, and I bet you will be on your way to being trustworthy.

My mother did the same thing to me when I was younger and still at home. It's nothing more than the fact that she may be insecure not knowing every detail in your life. If you are being totally honest then you are doing way better than most kids I knew. Try sitting her down and telling her exactly how this is making you feel (belittled, untrustworthy, and so on). Trust me, a lot of folks share this same predicament, just make it clear that you have no reason not to be honest with her. Good luck and best wishes.
