The latest theory about drinking water is to only drink when you're thirsty. Drinking too much water can not only flush out the elctrolites and other 'good dtuff' in your body, but it can leave you dehydrated if you suddenly stop drink so much H2O.

They say about a half a gallon is adequate, but if I need more I go for it. Too much of any one things isn't good. Get a drink when you are thirsty. I would get a gallon jug and drink at least half of it each day as a starting point, which might be 10 or more glasses a day. Good question!
