Family can fight over anything. A lot of those things or experiences are controlled by money, jobs, behaviors that influence jobs and money management. So yes, it's a priority topic. But serious matters Relating to human life and health should be treated as more important than money. Stealing is wrong-- most people agree. Borrowing money and not paying it back is a form of stealing. Some people want to live a debt free as possible, others don't see the big picture, they only see what they want. These ideals, to them , are worth fighting for. Getting married too young doesn't help but even people with good jobs have poor money management skills and act just as spoiled as children to coPe with stress. You are lucky to understand human worth. But to live in this world you need to also learn the disciple of managing money and finding a life partner who also practices money management or you two will argue as much and squeeze the joy out of your family as well.

My sister has always been a right bi^tch and so it really wasn't out of character when she wouldn't sign off on our fathers will which left everything to our mother and in turn held up all the money going to mum for months. She would take mums last penny if she could.

All depends on the situation. I never personally loan an amount of money to my family that i wouldn't be fine with them not paying back, unless it's for a neice or nephew and in that case i will take them to go get what they need and keep the reciepts

If it a heartfelt relationship, money is less important. Think about what you would rather have when you are on your death bed, your money or people who made your life meaningful.
