well, as a female, I think anywhere that you can get to know each other better. Somewhere that allows u to talk. Picnic in the park comes to mind.

there is a restaurant at the end of the Santa Monica pier good food and a pristine view of the sunset , the hot steamy plates will make you move closer to maintain eye contact . Did I mention the reasonable prices

As an individual female, I honestly prefer my love interest to take me somewhere exotic for a date. Nothing too obvious like going to the movies where he/she can secretly try to sneak a move on me. Nor anything that is too fancy like a restaurant because it is always hard to eat with all the nerves attacking you on your date. I think a place like the arcade or a hockey game(if you both like video games and sports of course) would be a fun and comfortable places for a date. The both of you can have fun challenges and tease each while not feeling so uncomfortable and getting to know each other all at the same time.

I think someplace intimately quiet with fantastic cuisine. Not a loud, trendy place where you're on display. This way you can really get to know the person and share a nice, warm 'getting to know you' time together. That little off the beaten path type of place...maybe a little old worldish even. It would be one of those places where if the date turns into something more serious down the road, you can call it, 'our little place'. I'm an impossible romantic ;}

sea beaches with a hat on and a glass of tropical juice on the sides. And if you dont like them at the end, you can always drown them and get to the next.
