    I would always prefer the laugh. As it would break barriers and make us more comfortable. If someone making you laugh, that is positive indication that they are comfortable with you

    First dates have to be fun! However, the fun should be genuine, if you're not naturally a fun person, faking it would be worse than spending the evening talking about a recently deceased uncle.

    When in doubt, be yourself and hope for the best.

    I would rather be engaged in a thought provoking conversion, but that someone would probably become more of a discussion partner rather than a dating partner (which is better anyways).
