He past only two weeks ago... I see so many things I say awww that would be great for Valentines day. Then, realize I wont be celebrating any holidays with him, ever. How did you handle the first holiday alone?

I think it would be best, to surround yourself with people you love, and that love you....maybe your children/grandchildren....go out to dinner with your friends...Don't rent a movie, and sit alone, all sad....
I'm alone for the first time, this year, too...mine did not pass away, but he's no longer a part of my life, nonetheless....
I'm planning a Valentine's Day party for my grandchildren...it's a surprise one....games, treats, and crafts....that will be my distraction.

We are each all alone, all the time. Sometimes other people are close by, sometimes they are further away. But it doesn't make us any less alone in our heads. We certainly all go to sleep alone with our eyes closed in our beds; I think we are awake alone as well, unable to share with anyone what is really going on inside our head. Plus, I'm a guy, so never much of a voluntary VD celebrant.

I am so sorry for your loss :(. It's been since May 2006 for me and I still have problems with the Holidays.
