Yes, of course. Piercings and tattoos don't affect people's abilities.

Well it depends on the job, catering jobs cannot have facial peircings health and safety standards, same with false nails.

I would have no prob's hiring someone with tattoos or piercings as i have some myself. They are cool in moderation.

Depends on the job.
If it had something to do with sales or other jobs that you have to represent a company, perhaps not. That depends on the image the company wants to have.
And absolutely not in the industrial production of foods, unless he's willing to patch everything up. That has to do with consumer safety.

If they were hired to deal with members of the public, some of who may also have body art, why wouldn't you?
If the piercings became a safety issue, thats another question.

Yeh. It's discrimination if the only reason someone is not employed is just because of a piercing or a tattoo.

I'm in the hospitqality industry and having facial art or non natural hair color is a taboo. It is an industry standard to not allow our guests to see employees that way as the guest is staying in "our home" and therfore it all has to look a certain way. I do not always agree that it is right as many people work away from the public eye but then that would then be unfair to those working the front desk.

people who have lots of tattoos and piercings lose their credibility to most people. i don't know why. i'm an RN. i've never seen a RN with visible tattoos. patients like a conservatiive nurse. so do hospitals.
however, my sister is a grade school teacher. she has lots of piercings and a few tattoos. she's a sought after teacher, and no parents have ever complained.
