For those australian- how would explain what vegemite is?

vegemite is like a black spread that is quite salty. its delicious but i think you may have to grow up with it to really like it because most people overseas people hate it.

most aussies love it but most people that havent grown up with it despise the taste and afterwards the very mention of it casues a grimace.
a real key to liking it i think is the butter...my Canadian gf tried it on dry toast with no butter and now thinks yes, that she is the vistim of the original aussie practical joke - lmao when she did it tho.i know people that eat it with honey as well...yuurrrrk

The reason most people overseas hate it is that they put it on like peanut butter or jelly and the stuff tastes awful that way. (Unless you have already acquired the taste). A little goes a very long way for beginners. If you can see it in the bread or cracker, thats enough. Thats how its done. Then you can add more once you're used to it. Rated: +2Vote for this!
