pool/ beach/ boardwalk/ backyard/ tanning/ spa/ gardening/ certain parades in the summer/ walking down the street after being to the water/ lakes/ oceans/ vacation spots/ patio restaurants by the beach etc etc..
NO
Work/ Church/ Temple/ Mosque/ Elementary school/ Bank/ Fancy restaurant/ Funerals and while cooking bacon.Like (2)

If I was going somewhere that required a swimsuit, no matter who I'm with, people from church, or whatever, I would probably wear it. But I live really close to the beach too, and lots of women wear a cover up over their bikinis. Cover ups make you presentable everywhere :-)

I have been needing to do some volunteer work . . . so will volunteer for the committee that will review each of these bikinis and determine acceptability . . . but, for full disclosure, there is a specific white bathing suit that I will find acceptable in ALL circumstances.

if people were more honest about the effect of bikinis on society then a bikini would be only considered appropriate in the privacy of the home. With someone who loves you, preferably your committed significant other.

Depends, are you making art with it? If not, then beach, pool and tanning if you tan.
