    Yes.. You are. But they like it that way.
    However, for aquick clue, try noticing women. They generally like the effort they put in to be noticed. And flattery is usually popular, even when overdone. But if they dont like it, stop immediately. Some people just cant delivery flattery without looking like a stalker.

    Get your wallet out that usually does it for most of them. You can spend half your life trying to be nice, loyal, Mr Personality etc, it's not what they seem to go for these days.

    Do you REALLY listen to them? Do you respond to what they have said, or are you too busy thinking up what you'll say in response in order to sound smart? Do you follow the conversation and only insert things that relate to the subject at hand? Are you fastidiously clean? Those are the first things that come to my mind.
