Forced helplessness really gets me miffed in horror movies.
So, the evil serial killer is on the floor because he got boiling water in his face, or hit his head, or fell down some stairs. Whatever. The point is, he's temporarily disabled and in pain.
Rather than jumping on him wielding a chair and smashing his head to pieces against the concrete, the helpless screaming woman tries futilely to open a locked door, and then waits helplessly until the killer gets back up and grabs her again.
Are you ****ing kidding me?
That kind of writing ****** me off. Hollywood is socializing entire generations of women to feel and act helpless just because they're slightly weaker than men.
