A majority of people are raised with some religious affiliation, most, even before understanding their sexual orientation and realising that a large number of faiths are not accepting.

Sad. Churches that do not support marriage, families, and children are doomed to extinction. Like the Shakers.

oh my days...its all such a big hoo-hah isn't it!
Churches are just bricks and mortar/stone whatever...religion is just dogma, open to interpretation, its translations have been chinese whispered and have evolved through history beyond original meanings, translated by the few who had the right to education in order to brainwash the masses who were deprived of it...
so...with that in mind..why is the church so important?
marriage is marriage
love is love
the building is irrelevent
If religious zealots are eating themselves up...because they cannot handle equality...let them eat themselves up...at least they won't get hungry

I'm for gay marriage, but most importantly I am for separation of church and state. I advocate for separation of church and state for a lot of other things, so I have to do it for this. If a church wants to allow same sex couples to be married in their faith, then that's fine with me, but if they don't, then I have to accept it as well.

Personally I don't care about what other people want to do... what I don't 'get' is why anyone would seek the approval for their union by an institution which said it the union was wrong irrespective of what the state forced them to do or that a liberal priest felt was the right thing.

Marriage is an outdated concept... civil partnerships are the future... straight people should be allowed to take this option

If it isn't against the faith or doctrine of that church, then it works for me.

Is a church is a building, or is it a group of people?
Do the people accept sin as acceptable? If so - fine. But that isn't much of a church in my mind.

Im not opposed to same sex marriage but I dont think it belongs in a church even though Im not Christian. It just seems wrong to me getting married in a house of god that plainly states he doesn't accept your sexual orientation.
