Resolved Question

Girls, do you find it offensive when you hear a male calling someone a "dumb b*tch" ? Read on..............?

I was just talking to a friend and he used those words to talk about some other female. I felt offended he did so; even if the words were not meant for me. I find it insulting that it is so OK with everyone to use derogatory terms like it's no big deal. He did not apologize and said women call each other those names anyway. How do you feel about that?

i think it's worse that women act like dumb *******. i'm a female myself and until i got into ep i also saw how men only were interested in most women for sex. most women are shallow, stupid, insecure yet vain, two-faced gossiping jealous back-stabbing bratty *** little girls who need a good spanking weekly! like martin said, it's not what you are called but what you answer to. that's just my humble opinion.

I would be offended. And women calling each other those names does not at all give him the right to call them that too. He's not a woman, those words aren't directed at him and they wouldn't have the same meaning even if they were.

I don't like that term at all...it's so common these days, girls call each other that, guys call girls that and it's all ok with everybody.
I think men shouldn't use that term, ever! And also women shouldn't put up with it.

I think it's just a term and really don't take offense to it... I may have referred to a man a time or two as dumb b*stard... ;-)~

I like the addage that when people call names it is because they aren't articulate enough to actually say something intelligent and meaninful. In that respect, I am offended by his laziness.

Absolutely it's offensive!!!! I have never called another woman a name like that. I don't think it's right for anyone to use words like that. Ever.

I do agree it is derogatory and insulting.

But I usually try to look through the words and hear the meaning of what a person is trying to say. For example, I really dont swear too much. But when I feel VERY strongly about something, I might very well let far too many cus words fly.... just a reflection of the pain I'm feeling at the time. Somehow venting it all helps a real lot.

So - depending on this person, and what he's talking about, and what he's going through, it may or may not be meant to be insulting. I dont think things are always as black and white as we want them to be....

I'm surprised at all the offence when so many women claim it as a badge of honour. You see it on t-shirts, internet signatures and funniest of all.....

Nah. I tend to think those kinds of words are only as important as we make them. But, then again, I'm the kind of person to call both guys and girls dumb ******* (I don't really assign genders when I'm name-calling).

Yes, I would be offended. It is unnecessary...lots of other words that could be used.

Why be the victim? Do you get offended when a woman calls a guy a dumb *****? Probably not. You think he must be or agree with her. Everyone says equality but no one lives it. No one should insult anyone if anyone gets offended. No matter if you are a woman or man.

Period!
