Guys- when exchanging numbers with a new girl you just met, is there a time period b4 you contact her?

AND since she has your number now too, how would you feel if she contacted you first?

Everyone's different. Just because someone asks for your number (or accepts your offer) doesn't mean they even have the slightest intention of calling you. I like getting called, some guys fear it. Because there's so much variation in people, the best I can tell you is this: anyone who has to measure out X amount of days before calling someone, or doesn't like you calling them after giving you their number, will likely not provide you with stimulating conversation (or much else). The confident male will answer your question like this: I'll call you when I feel like it, or call me whenever. Others will play time games or get intimidated by you calling them. It's really that simple.

first of all, i don't know why you are asking guys to tell you about women. you should be asking women to tell you about women, no?

if you really like her, call and say hi the next day. don't be over-bearing or lengthy. keep it light. ask her out for a weekend night early in the week. that is respectful and decent to do.

If I liked her, I would call soon afterward. If I liked her and she called me, that would be even cooler.

dont waste time text her if its her mobile when you get home or in the morning. and if she really likes you she may feel too nervous to call or text you first. we think the same way you know

No there is no time limit...Meeting new people is too political in many cases, as people spend too much time pretending...If someone liked me I would hope that they would make it obvious. Contacting him first should be flattering to him and if he doesn't see it that way then he isn't worth worrying about:)

Well, you need to at least give it 'overnight' in my opinion otherwise you come across as either desperate or a 'stalker' or both... lol. That goes for both sexes by the way. In fact, while it's certainly not fair I would say culturally American men would find a woman who was asked for her number that called the guy first before at least a few days went by a little 'desperate' and maybe even 'clingy'. On the other hand, it might seem 'playful' if a guy immediately called you on your C phone (assuming that's the number you gave him) just before the woman got 'out of sight'... just to call and say while laughing "I just wanted to make sure I had written the number down properly and say it was great to meet you" and then hang up.

My boyfriend told me there is a three day wait period so that he doesn't look desparate.
We had been knowing each other for thirty years and meet again at the doctor's office and i gave him my number.
He didn't call the first night so i called him the next day. I didn't know that there was a three day rule and i firgued it was o.k. to call him since we were already friends.
He was glad i called him and we talk and he called me back that night and we were on the phone catching up on things for three hours.
We have been together for two years right now and are planning to get married some time next year.
