Guys, what is it about "the thrill of the chase" that makes it so attractive to you?

Seems like once a guy who likes this attains the person he's been "chasing" he's no longer interested . . . ? Help! I don't get it . . .

I think this might be an affliction which is too good to restrict to just one gender (LOL). It seems that whether one is the chaser or the one being chased, once someone is caught, the game ends. I'd like to know the answer to this riddle as well.
Personally, I'd prefer the thrill that follows after being caught because I would think that once you know someone intimately, there are always more games that two can play.

I think its similar to why people go sport hunting or something like that. Maybe to some men women are only a new land to conquer, new prey to catch, new thing to discover... new game to play. Some scientists would say that its our part of nature... that some people have the subcontious feeling of preserving the species... lol. I don't exactly believe this one but... maybe it gives something to you.

I guess they don't consider other people feelings when they start to "play" the game. Maybe some do consider feelings but cant just help to loose interest after having her, they probably don't understand it either but they just cant help it.

I don't know exactly, i guess it depends on that man you are talking about. ALL people are different and so is their mind and spirit.

Not interested in chasing, if a woman dosn't show and interest I don't bother because that means she isn't interested. To keep pressuring her is disrespectfull.

O.K. This is going to sound weird, but I swear its true. Research into bovines (cows & bulls) has proved time and again that a bull will mate with a cow, then if the same cow is presented to him again in the same season, he will totally lose interest, but if another cow he hasn't yet covered is offered, he immediately performs his duty. Efforts such as spraying the old cow with another cows scent don't fool him. He seems to know that he has already covered that cow and wants a different one.
Now my theory is that some human males have a little of that trait left in the gene pool. If thats the case, they aren't looking for the right women, just a different woman; forever.

He chases. He sees if she responds with something that can keep his interest alive for any length of time.

If he gets bored, then he's doing you a favor: he's decided you don't have what he's looking for, so why fight? Move on to someone whom you'll have a better chance at pleasing, it becomes a win-win situation. Neither person will be settling.

Hi enna30
men's brains are optimized by evolution for fight or flight and women's for conciliation. This difference may account for it. At the extreme range a man may ot know what else to do!

I believe it is primitive. Neadrathals hunted and chased their prey, so I think 'the chase' is in their DNA. They can't help it. It is a drive they have no control over.
