HELP! WHY CAN'T I SLEEP?

Sometimes i question if i was a vampire in my past life..lol. Ever since i could remember i have these months when i can't sleep at night or even days. i will stay up all night and get tired when the sun comes up(sometimes at 5am or 6am) and i will sleep all day..but the days i force myself to get up n not sleep all day i don't eat all day till dinner time and even late at night. can somebody tell me what they think is wrong?

Your doing just about everything wrong.
Your eating and waking patterns are those of a night shift worker. So your body clock is reversed. Then the daylight sends a message to your brain to stay awake in the daytime as well.

It is doubtful that you were a vampire in your past life. I'm betting you can't sleep because you're sitting in a chair playing on the computer. If you'd like down in a bed or someplace comfy with the lights off and some quiet, I'll bet you'd eventually fall asleep!

Well, I have the same condition, too although I will not call it insomnia. I sleep 16 hours a day. YEY

Back to the topic, check your lifestyle. coffee, sweets, noise present? those can disturb your sleep habits.
lol, a vampire, wait, be careful, maybe stephenie meyer is just around

Classic Insomnia.

TCM (Traditional CHinese Medicine) is the only thing that has helped me with my years of insomnia. The basic concepts and meridian-based paradigm make sense of it all and you won't be hurting yourself with these ridiculous mind-fuck1ing drugs that Western doctors will prescribe. When you do see a TCM doctor, ask for plenty of info on how to eat properly for your condition and how to schedule activity and meals.

Look at the wiki page for "wu xing", which is "Five Element Cycle"(it's a simplified system used to describe TCM to patients; shows the correlation between physical and emotional maladies and also foods and the seasons). The graphics there are excellent; one is the Diurnal cycle which shows when each meridian is most active...which shows that between 11pm-3am the Wood (Gallbladder/Liver) meridians are most active. Insomnia is a Liver Heat issue meaning there is an excess of active-energy in the Liver meridian when it should be empty so it can fulfill phase I and II liver detoxification processes. There are numerous ways in which this status can exist in the body and so a professional should be seen to best tailor your treatment.

Until then:
Cut out dairy, sugar/cornsyrup, caffeine, fried foods, alcohol, and keep meat and salt to a minimum. Flour of any format is usually best avoided as it digests too quickly and is seldom implemented in vigorous physical activity as it needs to be and thus sits stagnant and creates mucus which burdens the Liver meridian and adds to the production of Heat which can lead to all sorts of other health issues as well. This sort of thing you need to be ruthless with if you don't see an acupuncturist/herbalist or else you'll see no progress. Either way it will take time and you'll have to make a lot of lifestyle changes. But believe me, it will save your life and show you things you didn't know about yourself if you go in for help from a TCM doctor.

I used to have problems both falling to sleep and getting a good night sleep, suffering from mild Sleep Apnea, a friend of mine told me about the LiveWave Silent Night patches, it worked wonders for me, I like it because nothing goes into my body and I sleep through the night without any problems.
