First, you realize the universal truth: that worrying about what other people think couldn't be more useless

Selfish to who? Anybody that doesn't want you to better yourself in whatever way you choose is not worth worrying about anyway.

Sometimes you have to be selfish and put yourself first. If you don't, you'll eventually become angry, bitter and resentful. Just remind yourself that the only person you know for sure you'll have to look in the mirror everyday for the rest of your life is you and when you're older and full of regret that is something you'll have to live with and not them. Good luck.

Do you perceive the action as selfish or do you worry that others will perceive you as selfish?
As usual, answering a question with a question!
The only time to really worry about that is if YOU think you're being selfish and can't live with it. If you want to start over on yourself, then by all means go for it.

For some people you will never be humble enough and will accuse you to be selfish regardless. So don't worry about it and be who you are baby!
Remember that if someone is accusing you of something that you are not doing, it is because they are.

I don't know but I think I'm just about at that point in my life. I don't like the way things are going today as a result of a selfish way I have acted. But screw it...if you don't please yourself how can you make others happy?

Unless you can be your true self, discover who you are again, learn to love yourself first, you can not give to others. So, selfish? no. It will be those who call you selfish for trying who are the ones that deserve that label.

Go for it. Take care, be happy, live one day at a time.
