Hair dyes... what do you do or have done to keep your hair in shape?
I fried my hair stripping red feria dyes out to go back blond but right when it started looking good my thyroid acted up and I went hypo and my hair refuses to defrizz no matter what i do. I have a friend who started hennaing 3 years ago to salvage her mane after years of dyeing and bleaching. It is now past her butt and gorgeous. I ordered cassia and henna to go strawberry blond because I think the lawsone in henna can save it, but my blond will be gone. Long red hair or short blond... I love long hair more and everyone liked red on my skin tone so I'm gonna give it a go.

Id avoid bleaching as it strips hair of everything and leaves it dry and dead looking. Long hennaed hair is very attractive and far healthier.

My hair is so black it is really hard to get any colour in it at all. It takes a fair amount of bleach just to get reddish or brown highlight. Its very shiny and strong though. I don't use products or conditioner and only natural shampoo.

Have you tried coconut oil? Once or twice a week I will wash my hair with a conditioning shampoo and then towel dry...I'll put enough coconut oil to cover my hair...wrap it in a towel, or if you have one of those heated hair dryers to sit under, I recommend sitting under that. If not...you can place a towel in the microwave and heat it for a bit and then wrap it around your hair. If you want to forgo the towel thing, no problem, you can just put the coconut oil in your hair and keep it in there all day. Then you wash it out. Also...another thing that smoothes the hair is to rinse with apple cider vinegar...you can google the measurements but it's really good for your hair and keeps it smooth and shiny. Good luck.
