   Has anyone (or someone you know) out there had a parent that had an affair? my dad did with one of my favorite adults
   
   How did it affect your relationship with that parent long-term? it weakened it severely.
   
   Did you hate your parent? Why? yes, i trusted him and was always closer to him than my mom but the affair hurt that
   
   Did you resent them? yes
   
   Did you ever forgive them? i guess i have moved on, maybe some day
   
   Were you happy for them? i dont know, sometimes it seems like he choose that life over our life
   
   Did they end up divorcing your other parent & end up with their lover? yes and they had a boy three months younger than my youngest sister
   
   Did you not know at the time that the parent was having an affair? i knew about the divorce when i was in 4th grade but i didn't know about the affair intil they actually told us
   
   Did you suspect your parent was having an affair? i didn't know what that was and i trusted my dad
   
   Did your parent deny it? he couldn't. DNA test.
   
   How did the suspicions affect your relationship with your parent long-term? i thought i was wrong for a while then i realized it was how my life was going to be. our relationship suffered but he couldnt' tell the difference.
   
   When did you find out for sure? when my parents sat me and my siblings down to talk.
   
   Are you allowing your parent to have a relationship with your kids?....i'm his kid, but yeah, i think it would be super importnant to have a relationship with them.

   Has anyone (or someone you know) out there had a parent that had an affair? my dad had an affair and things unfolded terribly.
   How did it affect your relationship with that parent long-term? My dad and i were always close as a child, i'm 19 now but when it all unfolded i was about 16 and things were tough and sometimes still are but i love him more then anything i am his daughter and he is my father. i make mistakes and he forgives me for mine...and i did of his if anything it made our relationship stronger
   Did you hate your parent? Why? no, if anything i was angry at my mom for not forgiving him and making it more difficult on all of us
   Did you resent them? no
   Did you ever forgive them? i did
   Were you happy for them? this is where it gets kinda tough...i hate to say it but in a way i was happy for him...but it was still wrong what he did....
   Did they end up divorcing your other parent & end up with their lover? nope
   Did you not know at the time that the parent was having an affair? no me and my sister both noticed changes in our dad
   Did you suspect your parent was having an affair? yes
   Did your parent deny it? we never confronted him but i think he knew we knew
   How did the suspicions affect your relationship with your parent long-term? lets just say i learnt a lot and everything happens for a reason in this situation....it taught everyone something
   When did you find out for sure? not to long after things started.
   Are you allowing your parent to have a relationship with your kids?....i am his kid :P and all parents should have a relationship with their child....had my dad just left us then i for sure would have never forgiven him for that
