Yes, my mom and my friends tell me this all the time. But fortunately I don't speak very clearly, so they can't understand what I'm talking about.. though it may be interesting to know. But I imagine that it would be pretty embrassing if you talk something serious out while sleeping.
I can only suggest that you may try to think about nice things before you get sleep. So you may not see dreams you don't wanna see and maybe you're only talking about flowers and stuff while sleeping.
Good luck. (:

Yep I do. Before someone comes to join me in my bed they get the rule... I am not responsible for anything I say or do in my sleep...

One of my favorites was telling exactly how I would rob a bank....to my g/f at the time.... she's a cop.... apparently the plan involved a unicorn and a badger so umm she didn't take it seriously, thankfully.

I have talked in my sleep since I learned how to talk so yeah the rule is about the only thing that saves my yappy mouth.

When I am really stressed about something or haven't gotten enough sleep I sometimes talk in my sleep too. As far as I know, there isn't any medication that stops sleep talking but there are some things I was told to do that helped me.

Relax before bedtime (maybe a warm shower or bath?)
Don't drink alcohol or caffeinated drinks after 6pm
Go to sleep at approximately the same time each night
Get a consistent 7- 8 hours of sleep each night

I thought it was interesting to learn that sleep talking tends to run in families. I wonder if it's genetic or environmental - family members may get stressed over similar experiences.

Hope this helps.

When I was younger people told me I talked in my sleep, there have been a few times now that my husband says I do but he says that he cant understand what I am saying! I guess as we get older it kind of lessens, but I dont know that it can be completely stopped.

I had talked during my sleep for years. I don't have any complaints of it now. I took a long look at myself and decided that I was too worried over what others thought of me. How I dressed, looked, if I ate funny, walked funny. I was really concerned of what others thought of me. Once I just learned to relax and be myself whether someone liked it or not, only then is when I stopped talking in my sleep. I was always worried of what I might say and how someone what interpret what I said. I have always talked to myself outloud as well. I console myself and keep myself on track. Learn that life will go on and you just live it. Stop worrying and you will stop talking in your sleep.

Yes, I've been told I talk while sleeping. It usually happens more during times of high stress because my mind is going and I tend not to sleep as deeply. I don't know of anyway to stop it except to try to de-stress.

Yes I do talk in my sleep. I say stuff that never makes any sense. I sadly have narcolepsy So I am ALWAYS talking in my sleep and never quite making sense half the time. At one time, I fell asleep on my boyfriend's arm and he thought I was just getting comfy. He shook me a little and asked me by my name. I told him "You know what? (what?). I'm getting chased by a gum cop because the alien candy was stolen by me. I just wanted to know what it felt like to be chased. Now im america's most wanted" LMAO!
Like I said...I say some WEIRD weird **** in my sleep. Unfortunantly there is nothing you can do about it lol. Just put a sock in their mouth HAH!

Yes, I've been told I talk in my sleep. I have even woken myself up laughing in my sleep. I do'nt think it is anything to worry over unless it is causing you to lose sleep.

Don't do anything when you're awake that you're afraid of talking about when you're sleeping.

My husband does. sometimes he moves also. I get very afraid. once he sat on the bed, moved his head as if he is seeing a kid walking and shouted on him to come back. I tried to calm him saying who are you talking about . he said : The remote, the remote pointing to something. I thought he wants the remote of the AC. He did not take it. I asked him which remote? he said the boy took the remote. I told him there is no boy here you are dreaming. he moved his head and said no then went to sleep again. I think that he was dreaming of his nephue taking the remote control of his toy car. ( My husband likes playing with cars)

I often wake myself up kicking and screaming. It's brought on by nightmares, and I often puzzle over the causes.

Two possible causes for me are Diazepam or Alcohol. Maybe other meds if I take them shortly before bedtime.
