Ah, but those same ideas the next morning are usually downgraded a bit to "What the hell was I thinking?!?" ;-)

I don't drink, but I accidentally drank absinthe when I was a kid, I'd have to say that sparked my creativity a lot since then considering I was very mechanical as a child, until I had that drink. (Hey, it was green and looked tempting, shut up :P)
