likely partially cut wires. Maybe power surge. If it happens when the wires of the speakers are moved, then it's definately that somewhere along the wires, it got strained, and is adding a resistance to the circuit, to get technical.

It's a static build up in the speaker coils, you need to plug your speakers into a surge protector, the electric regulation in your area is probably not too good.
