I have talked others into at least waiting. You cant talk someone else out of it... you just have to somehow embed the possibility of change.

People that want to commit suicide dont want to actually be dead, they want what ever is going in inside them to stop. They want hope back.

They want there to be a reason for them to stay on this earth and they want desperatly to believe in that reason.

People may say I wish I were dead, thats a comment .. the statement is that life seems to hard to live anymore.

People always want a reason to stop, but its just really hard to get someone to believe the reason.

If someone wants to kill themselves then they will.. at some point in time if something doesnt change for them.

On a possitive note the change does not have to be drastic, it just has to be something the person can feel or see .. or at least hope.

Well, if they didn't succeed in talking someone out of suicide, then that person wouldn't be around to post on here that it failed!

So far yes. I pray to God every night to help me get out of my marriage or to die. I haven't died so I imagine in God's time he will help me get away from my husband. ;) Does that help?

I thought about it for a more than a year. And came really close to the edge. I talked myself out of it one day, and have never even considered it once - ever since. I came to the realization that I was at rock bottom - and that it wasn't going to get any worse. But if I went through with it, my life wouldn't get any better. It would just end at the worst possible low of my life. And if I was at the bottom, I didn't have anywhere to go but up. I thought to myself, "you might be pathetic your whole life - but you'd be alive." It's a choice between having the tiniest amount of hope, and giving up that last little shred.

Mary Jane said to me "Dave, you can't die. There is way too much weed to smoke. There are way too many other great drugs to experience."
