Has anyone had a Cardiac Catheterisation done?

I'm going to be having this procedure done to look for a hole in the heart and it sounds really scary.

Husband had it done. No big deal he says. More nervous before than discomfort after. It'll be just fine. :-)

Good to know. The way the doctor described it made it seem really bad. Still not looking forward to it.

Not very comforting of her/him! It's a fairly common procedure. Snake a tiny little optic in , look around, take it out. Now, I am not a cardiac specialist so that's a simplistic explanation but have known at least 8 or 9 people who've had it done and can't recall any real complications. Technology is amazing and the professionals are well trained for what they do, you will be ok! My husband ended up having open heart surgery to repair a valve. He was out of the hospital in 5 days, today you wouldn't even know it had ever been done unless he told you. Good luck and I'm hoping the best results for you!

I have had two of them in the last six months. Like Lila29 said the happy drugs are wonderful. The worst pain was taking off the dressing those few hairs left, remind you .

It is no more dangerous in my opinion than a lot of medical procedures.. may be for that though but they know what they are doing.. just place your faith in God's hands and in his to guide their hands they have years of training and are specialists.. It all will work out just fine.
