Yes, several times.

And intend to do so again soon for the last time!

Yes!!

On September 10th, it will be 2 years for me and I am so happy about this! It is a miracle.

First, my doctor gave me a prescription for Chantix and I took it as directed. It took the desire away, not sure how it works, but it did.

Then, I posted on the Quit Smoking Diaries, you can google it. An on-line group of folks that have done this and encourage the hell out of you, really helped!!

You can be free of this addiction, too, if you want to. (sometimes even if you don't want to). I thought I would not be able to do it, but if I can, so can you. I have absolutely NO willpower!

Good luck and keep us apprised of your success.

my aunts have! One was a chain smoker, and the other was a regular. They were both "hypnotized." Works for some...

Yes. 9/29/09 it will be 21 years ago.

I used the gum for one day. They have done research about quitting. If you can get past the first day your chances of quitting improve. The gum was kind of harsh. It helped me get past the first day. I bascically went cold turkey. I chewed a lot of regular gum. I was very determined and it worked.

It is very hard to quit. I was lucky.

I smoked for 26 years, I quit cold turkey almost 6 months ago. I didn't find it too difficult. I chose a date and REALLY enjoyed my last cigarettes the night before. I experienced the usual food cravings and I indulged them and enjoyed. I was moody and I broke out in zits. That all passed soon enough. Once in a while I get an urge, then I just wait for a minute and it passes. Taking a good multi vitamin and eat well, that helped too I think.

I never officially quit, but I can go months without a cigarette. Even when influenced by other people smoking around me. I don't know, I've just never experienced the need for a cigarette, so mind over matter I guess?
