They'll only get worse if you delay. Face your fear. The dentist is there to help you. He wouldn't be needed if everyone's teeth were perfect, would he? U R doing him a favor!

My brother in law had this problem. He was in prison for years and when he got out and went to the dentist they made remarks about his teeth, and he said he wasn't going back, even though he needed work done. Then I guess his mom called a different dentist's office and made his appointment and told them what had happened, and that she didn't want anyone saying anything negative to him about his teeth. I'm sorry you're self conscious about it, but their job is to fix your teeth, not make you feel bad about them.

Thank you for your comment and I can relate to your brother. I will be going and I will be embarrassed and have anxiety but I must do it. I know that now. My appointment is next week and I will push through it. I am going to need dentures and that's ok, I've accepted that I just hope the dentist is kind. I appreciate your comment thank u

You are correct but the other reason is no insurance and no money to get them fixed. I appreciate your answer though and I will be taking care of it, I am just nervous and embarrassed

Seems like a lot of Americans have the same problem from all the research I've done. You'd actually be really surprised to know how many people in this country suffer from this problem. And unfortunately a lot of young women and men. But I'll def be open to listening to anyone from any country. Thanks for commenting

No. I know the dentist loves me. You see rotten teeth, the dentist will see $$. You have to get it done before it kills you though.

At your age, I started getting root canals. Last summer I had a triple extraction (the pain before was worse than after the extraction).

    Take care, and good luck.

I am very happy for you and I hope you continue to have wonderful teeth. You've obviously taken very good care of them and should be very proud of yourself for doing so.

I understand what you are saying and you are correct. But, they are all going to be pulled out due to the fact that none can be saved. I had no insurance and no money unfortunately to take care of it sooner and was really at a loss about where to begin. I was young, nieve, irresponsible, and broke. I am doing something about it now and have just hot my insurance but it doesn't prevent the embarrassment that I feel and the anxiety it gives me. I will do it but I am nervous and ashamed. As well as I should be. Although I didn't have insurance or Money and a gum disease that destroyed all my teeth, I am to blame for a lot of it. And I am fully aware of that. That is why the shame and embarrassment is there. I will be taking care of it now and I appreciate your comment. Thank u
