Sure beats the hell out of socialism in all its forms.

No, it's the best thing going, as long as there are checks to it

I agree with ChipmunkErnie. You need checks to balance out pure greed so that greed doesn't consume the economy and in turn destroy it like the recession we are currently in. It definitely beats out socialism because you need a financial incentive otherwise you don't progress (Plus socialist areas tend to get taken over by a dictator)...

To those that can look past their own greed, yes it has.
I no longer think it is right for a rich man to draw social security while a single mother with two kids and three jobs pays into it.
Too often, it is the bad that succeed.Like (1)

The problem with capitalism is that money/profit/the bottom line is more important than anything else - thus for many the ends justify the means - including exploitation of people and rape of the environment. Laissez-Faire will never work for any but the robber barons. It promotes an utter lack of humanity. While the need for a financial incentive can be a big plus, it needs to be tempered with something else - something that promotes a healthier ideal than money is everything. So, IMO, very strict regulations are required along with a strong, socialistic safety net for the poor and needy.
