Has someone ever spread a nasty rumour about you?

Yeah, someone came up to me and said how well i looked, considering. I said 'considering what?' and they replied that i looked good for a smackhead! Someone had told this person i was taking heroin!!! Never bloody touched the stuff, excepting diamorphine in hospital! They were reluctant (for obvious reasons) about telling me who started the rumour, so i still donn't know who said it. Not that i give rat's arse - i know it's a lie and everyone who matters also knows this, so bollocks to em i say - if that's the only way they can get attention, i kind of feel sorry for them.

My best friend did when I was 14. It was lots of dumb sex based rumors and stuff about my family. It was really just dumb and thinking back now it wasn't much of anything, but at the time it really upset me.

Yes, I ALWAYS had rumors going around about me. I was a Cheerleader- which always causes rumors. I also come from a well known family in my hometown and I usually hung out with mostly guys... After the first few rumors, i just kinda got used to it... One of them was that I was having se* with a football player every morning in the bathrooms in the 200 Hall (which has only 2 classes in it) before school started at 7. It made me laugh-- This football player was my BEST friend in high school- and we are now married- but at the time of these rumors he had a girlfriend and he didnt even come to school tell like 10!

yes, they said i liked girls and 'had someone' in the school bathrooms during recess. i was in 4th grade at the time, and was very quiet and smart and i didnt talk to anyone. i didnt understand the reason the rumor was spread, and i still dont.

Yes a rumor once got out that i was a virgin! Now that was horrible...ROFLMAO.... NO No im just kidding:) I was a virgin all through high school! But the real rumors were the usual shes a ***** who had sex with the football team last night... you know the usual lol...

Yeah. But I disagree with citchentable. Rumors are unconfirmed claims which are spread. If it is true, it's still gossip, and so it's been garbled and sensationalized. Taken out of context and edited as it got passed around. It's never factual, even if it was based on something true. I've never seen a completely true rumor, they get mangled in the process every time.

Yes, it was this crazy neighbor we have, she was having some emotional issues and did this towards a few of us around here. The rumour is not as important as the fact it was totally false and once I confronted her, she knew then to never try that junk again.
